On December 4th Microsoft is bringing out the Xbox 360 Fall Update. Fall in December? i know its crazy. :) Every year Microsoft has 2 major updates to the Xbox 360, a spring and a Fall update and most of the time they have some pretty nifty features take this years spring we got the Live Messenger integration and the marketplace blade.

Now Micosoft are being quite tight on details for this years Fall update but a few things have been confirmed.

Downloadable Original Xbox Games!

I kid you not you can download all your old faves to your hard drive for around a tenner a piece. A 120gb is highly needed here.

The number of titles will get better over time but the first lot of games include:

Halo
Fahrenheit
Fable
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex
Burnout 3
Psychonauts

Europe Gets On Demand Movie Downloads

The US has had this feature for along time that allows you to rent downloadable HD movies. This sevice is coming to us and our European friends in the update.

The service works by letting you rent the download and you will have 4 days to start watching the movie but as soon as you have started to watch it you have 24 hours to finish it. That is a big blow on the whole pitch for me as i often like to watch movies in bits or more than once.

The films come in full 720p HD and not 1080p for some crazy reason, probably to keep the download size down. Also standard def versions will be avalible. Price depends on the content but im guessing it wont be to much as there only rental movies. Again a 120gb hard drive is essential and its seems most of the Fall update is making the demand for a 120gb hard drive even higher.

Please not that this feature is not to be confused with IPTV and Microsoft has confirmed that this IPTV wont be in the fall update after many rumors on the Internet.

Advanced Parental Controls

Kids beware parents will soon be able to restrict how long you spend on your Xbox and what times and days you can go on it. I guess i can see there point a solid month of Viva Pinata is enough to send anyone crazy! :)

Strong Rumors

Stuff thats been lurking about but its more than likely that the update could contain. But the key work is RUMORS, might never happen at all.

DivX/Xvid File Support (Im Begging you Microsoft put this in!)
A New Xbox Live Arcade Balde

Also theres a list going around with tonnes of cool new features on but its more like someones wish list rather than a confirmed list. I wouldn't pay to much attention to it but i have a copy of the list here if your intrigued.
