Top 8 Christmas Gadget Gifts For 2007!
Monday, 26 November 2007 Posted at 02:45iPhone

Probably the most anticipated Apple product of all time, this phone is very attractive and has a unique touch system, giving the phone a larger screen with less buttons. Some advantages of this phone are the built in Wifi and support for iTunes and the built in Safari web browser. The iPhone has some drawbacks such as no 3G support and the built in camera is an average 2mega-pixels and as of yet has no video support. One of our writers (Wiggles) has an iPhone and is writing his review so we should see an in-depth owners review soon. Personally i love the look of this product and allthough it may be slightly lacking int the feature department its still one of the best phones on the market and if your anything like me and want a phone that just screems i am gordius! then the iPhone is unbeatably the best option.
Price: Depending on contract, Buyout Price £269 (Not yet available on pay as you go in the UK)
Rating: The ultimate show off device!.....want one.
Playstation 3

This console is undoubtedly the most powerful gaming system on the planet. With a Blu-ray drive, built in Wifi, Bluetooth and card reader, It wins hands down on the hardware front. Wireless Bluetooth controller with motion sensitivity come as standard even on the cheaper system and both come with a hard drive either 40gb or 60gb depending on the modal. The online system isn't as advanced or popular as the Xbox Live service on the Xbox 360 but its sufficient enough if you have never tried Xbox Live or if your not crazy on community and keeping in touch with friends. Games wise its not doing to bad but i think the 360 is the better option for variety.
Price: 40gb £350, 60gb £400
Rating: Out Of This World Hardware!
Xbox 360

Xbox 360 is not only a superb gaming platform but its also a excellent way to extend your media around your home. Plus with fantastic games titles like Gears of War, Halo 3, Project Gothem and the new Mass Effect you can keep playing for hours. The new Xbox 360 arcade model offers a value system for buyer on a tight budget, Microsoft has filled the gap in the market for a low budget HD gaming platform and i would recommend it to anyone taking the next gen plundge.
Price: Arcade System £200, Premium System £250, Elite System £300
Rating: Its a must have in any household
Nintendo Wii

If your not crazy on graphics and don't care for online gaming and just want to have some fun this device is for you with fun titles perfect for the whole family and it keeps you on your feet with its unique motion controller your can point, click, swing, shake and literally do anything with your remote to play outrageously fun titles like Wii Sports, WarioWare and Rayman Ravin Rabbids. Unfortunately the Wii is lacking in power and doesnt support High definition gaming. Its drive doesn't support DVD's or CD's and at the Wii can leave you thinking that it could do a little more.
Price: £170
Rating: Fun! Fun! Fun!
Nokia N95

The Nokia N-series mobile phones have been a booming success with my old favorite the N80 stilling being the best selling phone in the category. Of course that is due to change because of this beast. The Nokia N95 wipes the floor with any other specs on a mobile i have ever seen. Its got a 5 mega-pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, built in GPS and Wifi. Plus a built in graphics accelerator to handle high quality games and to keep the UI running smoothly. Is looks very futeristic and still has the nice brush metal effect as seen in previous N-series phones. If you have the cash and love phones with lots of features i couldnt think of another phone on par with this one.
Price: £400-£500 Sim Free, Avalible on contract
Rating: Bow down to the mother of all phones!
Zune 2.0

Microsofts solid attempt of showing there faces in the MP3 player market. The Zune has some niffy features such as Wi-Fi and a radio receiver and the ability to share songs with friends. The device looks rather tasty too and its available in various colours and memory sizes of 4, 8, 30 and 80GB. The Zunes is taking a different approach to the market dominant MP3 player (the Apple iPod) by making the Music industry more sharable and social rather than personal like the iPod. I like that and i can see Microsofts vision for this product and hope it does well in the industry.
Price: Not yet avalible in UK Stores, Avalible online from $149-$299.
Rating: Join the social.....I like that!
iPod Touch

Its the new iPod! but its not just a redesign. This time it includes a touch screen control system similar to that in the iPhone. In fact it looks remarkably similar to an iPhone. If your a music lover and like to show off your gadgets the iPod touch will definitely do that for you. Also Apple has had a redesign on its other iPod range with the ipod classic a slighter, more rounded and smaller iPod.
Price: 8GB £199, 16GB £269
Rating: Ooooo a new Ipod that isn't just a smaller version of the previous one!!
Windows Vista

The new Microsoft operating system released earlier this year, its a more secure and reliable system and to top it off it looks very clean and crisp with its new glass effect windows. Its feels a more pleasurable experience than Windows XP and stuff is much easier to find with the integrated search found on the start menu and on every explorer windows. The best version for the average user is Home Premium because it comes with great media capabilities including media center. Vista Ultimate Edition is one you must avoid at all cost, Microsoft promised great innotive extras for customers who pay the extra price but quite frankly they have failed to deliver. All in all Vista is an amazing product and sooner or later you will come across it and if you getting a new computer this year expect to see this amazing product pre installed.
Price: (Based on Avarage for the Vista Upgrade Editons) Home Basic £49.99, Home Premium £99.99, Business £149.99, Ultimate £199.99
