Its true! the BBC and ITV and Channel 4 have finally come to there senses and are in the talking stages of creating a mega all in one video on demand service. The project (Codename: Project Kangaroo) will provide free downloads, streaming, rental and purchase via the Internet. This is one of the best and most exciting projects i have ever come across regards to anything to do with the British television networks and i cant wait to see the outcome.

All 3 channels have already got there own on demand platforms and all allow users to catchup with there watched TV programs online for Free! After testing all three i would say the best service by far is 4od or 4 on demand as it offers streaming support, fast download speeds and support for Windows Vista.

Here are links to all the services so you can check them out for yourself:

BBC iPlayer

ITV Catch UP

Channel 4 4OD

But if all goes well and if everyone stays in on the project we are looking at a timescale of next year. This could open up great door ways for the networks to get on to our screens when we are out and about and i love the concept of being able to watch any TV program i miss online when ever it suites me.
